Isthmus Makes A Run For It
Early in the morning of August 5th nearly half of Isthmus staff and their supporters gathered at their St. Paul office to run the RBC Race for the Kids in support of Ronald McDonald House charities. The weather was perfect as most of the team walked from Lowertown to the Mississippi River Upper Landing Park in St. Paul. In all, nine members of Team Isthmus participated in one leg of the run or another. The race featured many distance/challenge options for participants. Most of Team Isthmus ran the full 13.1-mile half-marathon while others ran the 5-mile or the 5k. They were supported by co-workers, family, and friends along the route. Everyone appeared to have a great time without injury or incident. After the race, many headed to Key's Café for fuel and comradery. Many members of Team Isthmus participate in regular physical activity of one sort or another. A few even race frequently or are part of professional teams but this was the first time such a large group participated, collectively, in an event. Team Isthmus included Pravin Dhakal, Amy DeBruin, Andrea Fastenow, Mike Knudson, Justin Konen, Kevin Krech, Jeremy Morris, Sam Thiele, and Jason Tschida, and honorary participants Ronald Dee and Katie Johnson who were sidelined with training injuries.
