Joe is passionate about connecting people to accessible and equitable transportation systems. He combines his background in Urban Planning and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with strong data analysis, communications, and engagement skills. As a Transportation Planner, Joe focuses on delivering multimodal transportation solutions to communities by using data analysis combined with community engagement. He specializes in transportation planning, transportation performance management, geospatial analysis, and public policy. Informed by his experience at the local, state, and regional levels, Joe brings a detailed, analytical GIS skill set to the establishment of performance measures and evaluation of projects. He has partnered with a variety of organizations including MnDOT, the City of Minneapolis, and counties and cities outside Minnesota. As a community engagement practitioner, Joe strives to elevate underrepresented voices to achieve equitable planning outcomes. He facilitates by listening and educating with sincerity and thoughtfulness to help understand what people need from the transportation systems in their communities – and make sure they can use them.

As a Minnesota transplant, Joe enjoys exploring the natural beauty of the state both in his free time and as a part of his active transportation scoping work. He regularly hikes, bikes, fishes, and cross-country skis throughout Minnesota.
