Daren approaches his transportation design work with an understanding and appreciation of constructability and integration into the community. His transportation engineering experience includes geometric design of roadway projects, ADA design, intersection design studies, design of public improvement projects, cost estimates, construction inspection, and surveying. His design versatility also includes maintenance of traffic and signing and pavement marking. Early in his career, Daren had opportunities to work in other civil engineering disciplines, including construction engineering and land development. This experience informs his approach and enhances his design skills. Daren brings an infectious energy to his teams through his fun and engaging personality. That combined with his dependability and focus on accountability, enables him to build strong working relationships and deliver high-quality results.
Daren’s favorite things to do (besides working at Isthmus, of course) typically involve music — listening, watching, advancing his playing skills, adding a new instrument to his repertoire, or reminiscing about his glory days as a sousaphone player in the University of Wisconsin Marching Band.
