Hunter has appreciated that the pace of projects at Isthmus allows him to develop quality deliverables that reflect thoughtful design solutions. As a hydrologist and designer, Hunter has worked on diverse and complex projects in water resources and highway drainage design. He specializes in stormwater modeling and the design of stormwater management systems. This includes stormwater management for rural and urban highway drainage systems, storm sewer design, open channel flow design, stormwater treatment practice design, water quality modeling, and temporary and permanent erosion control measure design. Hunter has in-depth knowledge of MnDOT regulations and design standards and extensive experience working with local, regional, and state permitting agencies. With seven years of experience designing stormwater systems specifically for MnDOT projects, he has a strong working knowledge of MnDOT’s CAD design standards. Hunter also has his Design of Construction SWPPP Certification from the University of Minnesota Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering.
Hunter’s passion for water extends beyond his career. When it’s warm, he likes to be on or in the water — swimming, canoeing, or kayaking. Hunter also enjoys working on his old craftsman home and spending quality time with his wife and two kids.
