As the founder, owner, and president, Katie is at the heart of Isthmus’ award-winning workplace and leads strategic initiatives aimed at advancing the effective use of technology. Her engineering experience focuses on accelerated delivery projects with an emphasis on developing construction-ready 3D models. Katie led the local industry, including MnDOT, in the transition from criteria-based cross sections to corridor modeling. Between 2006 and 2020, Katie served as the lead instructor for MnDOT’s CADD training program. She currently serves as the main point of contact on multiple district-level design and CADD support contracts. As a proponent of collaboration and the exchange of best practices, Katie founded the ACEC/MN Design Technology Forum and she is currently serving as Board President-Elect for ACEC/MN. Katie's passion for paying it forward is further demonstrated by her active and regular mentorship and support of other women in transportation engineering. She is a champion and advocate, not only for Isthmus but for other small businesses across the industry.
